You get to keep the pumpkin. It's like a pet that you feed every so often and it will give you rewards, it just won't level up anymore. The leftover pumpkins can be traded at Sitas Bazaar for deco or sticker chests or you can sell them at the WM.

I get ghost cookies randomly ( a couple a day maybe?) by clicking on wild life
