Re: An Off Topic Thread

Beacon was probably depressed, that's why it was quiet. now it knows it's being loved and well cared for so it's true nature will come out :D Exactly. The reason the girl gave for giving Beacon up was "she just had a baby 10 weeks ago". Beacon is supposedly only 3 months old. My question ...

Re: An Off Topic Thread

Kat, your Beacon is beautiful/handsome (whichever fits :D ) Thanks Serene. I'm enjoying getting to know Beacon. He/She defeintely needed a new home. When I picked it up from an ad he/she lived in a very small cage with one toy. Not good for a Lovebird. The person I rescued it from said Beacon was a...

Re: An Off Topic Thread

I've had budgies and a canary, the pet store told me their sexes when I got them. How old does a bird have to be before you know the sex? I'm not sure of the age but I was told you can tell the differnce by feeling the bones at the anal area. A females will be seperated more as they age to allow an...

The colors are so "doux doux". ( Soft)

Thanks! Beacon is a cutie. It was fun to spend the day watching and playing. I get home late a lot of nights and it's usually tired and grumby by then. Today was full of itself. :D

Re: An Off Topic Thread

Was a chore to get pics of my new bird and download them. For some reason my computer doesn't recognize my phone anymore. I wish I could post a video with it singing. It's quite amusing. He/She already learned the " pretty whistle" I finally came up with a name that I felt was unisex since...

Re: An Off Topic Thread

In Florida and Hawaii, you probably see the tropical hibiscus. Those grow like trees. In most of the US those can only be grown (not very well) as houseplants. The perennial, hardy hibiscus can grow in much colder climates and dies to the ground in winter. They have those strong, straight stems, an...
