Our Friends in Hawaii

Mauimonkey, I believe that your name tells us the island you live on, but I want to be sure that all the volcanic activity is well away from you and yours, and all the other great Hawaiian Island friends we have on PB! Please let us all know you are all safe and sound, and not breathing some noxious vapors and watching the lava flow into your house, car, parking lot.

Yes, I do live on Maui. And so does our forum friend Nalani80. Everything here is safe. Lots of vog (volcanic fog/sulfur dioxide), but not much more than we are use to. All of the volcanic activity and hazardous conditions are on the island of Hawaii, aka the Big Island. All earthquakes have been centered there as well. Though the volcano opened in the middle of a community and has destroyed many homes and properties, no one has been hurt. Thank goodness. The volcanoes here are kinda unique, and aren't as explosive as in other places. Still high risks of more activity in multiple places though, so we are all just watching. I do have friends there who are in the danger zone, so please keep them and everyone else on the Big Island in your thoughts. And thanks again

I’ve only visited Hawaii once [Kaui & Oahu, Aug.`92] but it is by far one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever had the privilege to behold; one of God’s many masterpieces! You all are truly blessed and I pray you remain so!❤️
