As a courtesy to other players....... when posting a screenshot of someone else's island, make sure not to show their island name in the post. How you do this: Take a screenshot, then go to your photos and view it. Zoom in until you can no longer see the name. Take another screenshot. Then use the edited screenshot in your post. You can also use the crop function if you do not intend to keep a copy of the original screenshot. And you can also use this method when posting a screenshot of your own island and don't want people to see your coin, XP, gems and so on.

Mobile instructions (without app)
Provided by Mauimonkey

1: take a screenshot

2: go to imgur.com
(Note: if you do not see the page shown in step 3, view "Instructions for getting around the app" below)

3: select the upload icon on the home page (cloud with arrow)

4: press x to close the advertisement for app

5: select Upload from Device

6: choose where to get photo from

7: select photo (will have blue circle with check mark), press done

8: press blue Upload button, wait while it uploads

9: once it uploads, press link button and select BBCode

10: highlight and copy ALL of image code (will have [img] on both ends)

11: paste image code in your post

That is it. Your image will show as a code in your draft, preview your post to make sure it works. It seems like a lot of steps, but it is actually fast and easy. Happy posting everyone!

Instructions for getting around the app
Provided by Mauimonkey

There are many times when I go to imgur and it wants me to download the app or register to upload an image, and it seems there is no other option. There is a way around this. Below are the specific steps to get around having to download the app or register while using the mobile version. The steps must be done in this specific order or you'll keep getting sent back to pages about the app.

First you'll see something like this.....

From here, go to the settings menu in the top left corner. Select Sign In. Then once on the Sign In page, go to the settings menu again and select Register. Once on the Register page, you'll see the upload icon (cloud with arrow) in the top right corner......

You can tap the icon and upload your image as usual from there (step 4 in Mobile instructions without app), or from the Register page you can go to the settings menu again, select Home, and then you'll be on the regular home page that we are all fimiliar with (step 3 in Mobile instructions without app).

If you open your image on Imgur you get a drop down list of actions you can do. One of them is the BBCode section highlighted on this screen grab. Simply copy it and paste into your PB post. It's much easier than it used to be.

Desktop/Laptop Instructions

Select the green New Post button in top left of page (has upload icon). Then select Upload Images.

Once on this page, you will choose where to get your image from.

Once you select a photo, it will automatically upload it. When you place your cursor over the uploaded photo, you will see a box pop up and a down arrow.

Click the down arrow and select Get share links.

Copy the one that says BBCode (Forums) and then paste it in your post.

technically, imgur's terms and service ask you not to use their site for posting images onto forums. using a site such as photobucket, imgsafe, postimg, or tinypic are better suited.

Thank you Jenna822, it is good to have other sites listed as well. They just may be better suiting. Though I did not find anything specific to forums in the imgur terms, that does not mean that you are not correct. And I hope the use of the site in PB forums does not violate any of their terms.

The imgur site has always been the "go to" site for posting pics on this forum. It has been used for a long time and a lot of people use it, so that is why directions for it are even here. There are many other threads in the PB forums on how to use the site, though they are only descriptive or provide a link and can be confusing. The only intention of this post is to help people more easily navigate the site.

If the monitors who review the PB forums regularly think this post in any way violates any laws, please delete the entire thread immediately.

Is there anyway in the future that PB could add a camera shot option in the game. Don't know what to call it, but the Smurfs game has it. You can take pics of your game and it goes into your photo file. Might be something interesting to add to the game. :?:

This is interesting considering PB forum has declared Imgur the upload choice for this forum. I have used photobucket on forums for years and had to "imgur" for this imgur friendly forum. I'd really rather not use imgur. BBC coding is not state of the art and not the most user friendly but this forum encourages it.

I have to wonder where your info comes from and would suggest you demonstrate a photo post via photobucket if you would.

Other than that, MauiM has pretty much done many a service by showing the step by step.

Thank you everyone, and you are most welcome. I saw how often people asked how to use the site or were having problems and thought this would help. I am glad people appreciate it and find it useful. That was my intention.

Thank you friend Zobyn for your comments. I appreciate you chiming in. I too have to wonder, as I have read all of the terms and can find no reference to not posting in forums, but I could be mistaken. Though I would think that problems would have already arisen considering this has been the common method in use for so long.

Other than that I hope this enables more people to be able to post awesome pictures of their islands and be able to share the things they enjoy and are proud of in Paradise Bay. Happy posting everyone :D
