Beth, I don't know how to quote just part of a post in my reply or how to partially quote several folks in a reply. I know that we're all very busy with this hunt but maybe afterwards you could PM me or start a thread on how to do this? I would really appreciate instructions.
.

When you reply you put your marker to make you type just before the quote at the end and back space the picture or text you wish to delete. On your post I could delete just the word thanks or all of the second chapter and so on. The repeat of pictures and 7 people answering the same answer just to post was my point and I'm not trying to get people to quit posting just if you see the post is answered then post a positive pat on the back or a cute something said instead of 7 of the same answer with the whole original question reposted 7 times. And only on important topics as to not make new comers feel overwhelmed.

Starlarose, I agree with Hanna they are trying to feed the bunny. My intention was not to stop posting just maybe less repeating the original question or statement over and over. Kitty has the best gifs on the forums, there are others that just flat out help with the best advise. And who could not live without Livs awesome level 1-however many pictures with what you get. And those have 8 or 9 much needed to see pictures. I love her post's but if you just reply instead of repeating her post 7 times it makes 3 pages of the same post. I'm all for having fun as an entertainer but having to go through 3 pages of the same question and answer is a bit much is all. I put it over hear on a thread I created to express my opinion and I hope was a kind request not just for me but many new comers that I have talked to that have told me what I posted. It's overwhelming the constant repeating of the same pictures over and over again. I would never want to run anyone off or keep them from enjoying their time and friends on the forums just maybe stop repeating stuff. I ment well but some people just want to see bad in things and I'm all about positive. I'm sorry if you think I made people stop posting but I really don't think I can tell any of these very strong ladies what to do at all. They would just ignore me and go on with life.

May be a coincidence. More likely not.
I hope you are happy now.
I miss their posts. :(
I miss them :( :( :(

What I also noticed is that since those "same 5 or 6 people" (as Checkers called them, apparently he can't be bother with naming them) stopped posting, this place is mostly just about complaining and being angry...there's nothing funny, barely any positive remarks. I prefer a thread with 20 pages of goofy remarks after a question has been answered to a single thread like this one. I don't understand why a grown man would start a topic that is meant just for bullying and bringing people down for no reason...unless it's just for drama and attention seeking...which I'm pretty sure is the case here.
I really hope they aren't posting because they are busy with their real lives. I really miss them too :(

Hi Koalia,

I think they all are busy. It is not only the slow chewing bunny. Tomorrow is easter! I just coloured the eggs, bake two cakes and have to bake another. I only take a rest because of pain (I have rheumatism). Sure will be a busy day for them, too! Really, we are all grown up people, they could say what's wrong.

This is a lot more easily said than done when working on a mobile device. One of the problems is that the software puts the close quote tag directly after the end of content without any space so the iPad won't let you put the cursor in there as long as the keyboard is up. So you have to get rid of the keyboard, touch the screen at exactly the right spot to get behind the content and in front of the bracket (which usually takes multiple tries) then bring the keyboard back up to get to the backspace key.

Alternatively, you can touch any word until the editing banner comes up then chose select. In theory, one can then move the front and or back edge of the highlighted selection to include whatever you want to get rid of, then tap cut or the backspace key to get rid of it. Again, though, this task is very putzy on this board. Maybe I should stop trying to post here from the iPad and use a regular computer with keyboard and mouse.

The board software could help us out a lot by
- automatically cutting the signature tag from quoted posts;
- automatically inserting a blank space in front of the close quote tag; and
- automatically cutting images from quoted posts.

I have been on other boards that did the first and third.

I think a good compromise would be to at least get rid of images and gifs. All you need to do is touch them until they are highlighted then backspace to cut the image out.

The repeat of pictures and 7 people answering the same answer just to post was my point ...

I don't entirely agree here. Well, replying to the opening question without quoting is probably a good suggestion and I agree with the adding the pat on the back or fun thoughts, but I think it can be helpful to get multiple explantations from different people. Different people say things different ways and maybe one just will make more sense or just click better for that person than another. Plus, we rarely see these where later posts don't add some new info or words of encouragement

Man if it doesn't go your way then all bets are off. I feel like I'm talking to 3d graders here. #1 I don't have the power to make anyone stop posting anything for any reason. If I had that kind of power I would have everyone in the US put 20.00 in my bank account. #2 it is easter, and that being a big holiday to lots of people just maybe they are enjoying festivities and family. I'm sure after you will hear happy stories and lots of fun things they did. #3 I didn't mention names because even I am guilty of what I was posting. I talked to 3 different people new to the game that had said that that's why they don't go to the forums is because of the massive amount of posts that are repeating themselves. I won't say what they thought of some of the people and where their head was at, but just a random 3 people told me about the same story with the same people. I try not to prejudge people but some do post alot and some don't and that's the way of the world. #4 if people truly have stopped the massive posting from reading this post mission accomplished. Have silly threads and have fun answering post with humor and a pic or gif. It stated the repeating of the same post 7 times was pretty much the main point.

I'm 57 years old, have been around the world 3 times served 6 years Navy and raised 2 boys to be men in the world. So I've earned the right to peacefully voice my opinion. If you don't like it don't read it. I'm not attacking anyone or anything just passing on what others have told me. I'm grown up and take full responsibility for my words. If your hurt then seek help because it is not that big a deal what I posted. It was an option of myself and others I've talked to. Now everyone else may just move on and quit thinking the world is over because it's Easter and people spending time with their families. Seriously!

1. I deleted almost all of my signature + gif.
2. I'm busy with the Egg Hunt.
3. I asked for directions but I'm on a Kindle and still don't understand how to partially quote a reply but am willing to try.
4. I have helped many people on this forum in answering their questions and try to post screenshots to help them because I am a visual learner as well.
5. On the "fun" threads such as music and Cherokee's thread about posting off-topic, hilarious posts, I will remain my goofy silly self.
6. What family? I'm in mourning and housebound. I need friends, TLC and laughter to get through this extremely painful time in my life.

Thank you for understanding, LilBB.

Please don't remove your gif signature. I love your gifs. And the trimming of text is really easy when you click on the " icon the next screen shows their post. At the beginning and end is a /quote in the brackets that look like this [ ] you put your curser just before [ and back space out the picture and whatever text you don't need and put the curser back on the next line after the /quote and then answer the post as I have done. It's not as hard as explaining how to do it. Please put your signature back. I wasn't the one who mentioned that. I like your glittery butterfly. That's how I new it was you. Little bubble keep being you.
