ok I've downloaded this game and love it but can't find my own code or how to connect to you??? Any hints how to do this???

I’ve added my player codes for FTE and Township in my signature here.
My Farmville Tropical Escape code: FI6E-WHJ0 Name: Beth’s Paradise Inn
To find your player code in Tropical Escape, tap the people icon bottom right.
Then select the third tab down with the person plus icon. Your code shows across the top.
This is also where you go to open the screen enter other players’ codes to send them a friend request
I am happy for the chance to stay connected to forum posters thru other games. Facebook also works with both these games.

Hit the group icon in bottom right of screen.
Go to the 3rd icon down and on the left side of menu.
Your island code is right below “Recommended Buddies” banner.
Get a friend’s island code and enter in prompt below your island’s code!
